Excise and Taxation officers face action over short recovery

The Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department issues show-cause notices to 24 of its employees

RAWALPINDI: The Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Rawalpindi has issued show-cause notices to 24 of its employees. The notices were issued for a final action over poor performance in tax recovery. The Rawalpindi Excise Director Sohail Arshad issued show-cause cum personal hearing notices to the 24 employees. The officials receiving notices also included five women employees.

The notice stated that the inquiry officer had suggested three different punishments after inquiry on disciplinary action under Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act.
