443 dengue cases reported so far 

Officials directed to activate specialised counters for dengue at public hospitals

MULTAN: So far 443 dengue patients have been diagnosed with dengue. Majority of the patients, 399 to be exact, were reported from Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, at least 14 cases were reported in Lahore, nine in Faisalabad, two in Muzaffargarh, six from Chakwal,  three from Gujranwala and one each from Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujrat, Jhang, Chiniot and Attock. In this regard, CEOs across the province were directed to launch an anti-dengue campaign by the Punjab Health Services director-general. Further, officials were directed to activate specialised counters for dengue at public hospitals. In addition, officials were told to organise awareness activities and to spread awareness among citizens. Further, educational material about the disease and methods of prevention should be prominently displayed at all health centres and hospitals. Moreover, the directions added that every alternate day should be marked for cleanliness activities.
