LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said the whole nation will come onto the streets to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He was certain there would be a strong show of love and affection towards Kashmiris as Pakistan would not stand silent over Indian cruelties in the region.

He warned that the Modi government would have to bear the consequences of the historic blunder of revoking the special status of Occupied Kashmir. “It is regrettable that the world is a silent spectator to the burning of Occupied Kashmir,” the CM said. He added India continuously deprived Kashmiris of their fundamental rights and people were denied medicines and other essential items due to prolonged curfews.

“Obstinate India has made the lives of hundreds of thousands hell with its stubborn approach,” he added. Buzdar continued that the people of Occupied Kashmir have rendered tremendous sacrifices for their freedom and their struggle will soon materialize.

The CM pointed out that the sham democracy of the Modi government had been fully exposed, adding nobody could isolate Kashmir from Pakistan. “Our lives, joys and happiness are common and Kashmiris will never be abandoned by Pakistan.”

CM and Governor to join in solidarity

A high-level meeting was held at the Governor House which was jointly chaired by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar. The meeting reviewed arrangements for Kashmir Solidarity Day on Friday (today). It was decided that complete solidarity would be expressed with the Kashmiri people in the whole province at noon.

People will be gathered at Regal Chowk, Civil Secretariat Chowk and Faisal Chowk where they will be joined by the CM and the governor.

Similarly, people will also gather at divisional headquarters, districts and tehsils at noon and students will observe Kashmir Solidarity Day. Rallies will be taken out after Friday prayers and it is expected that a large number of people will participate.
