Turkey observing ‘IOK situation’
FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi calls his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavusoglu
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday made a telephone call to his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavusoglu to discuss human rights violations by Indian troops in Occupied Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported.
Qureshi said Turkey should play its role to end the curfew in Occupied Kashmir. He also appreciated Ankara’s efforts for the unity of Muslim Ummah.
Turkish FM said: “We are observing the whole [IOK] situation”. He said after United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting Turkey has stressed the need for resolving the issue according to UN resolutions.

Both leaders decided to meet at UN General Assembly session being held next month.
Separately, FM Qureshi also spoke with OIC Secretary General HE Yousef Al-Othaimeen to brief him on prevailing IOK situation, says a press release.
Qureshi shared a set of proposals, including a renewed call on India to allow the OIC Fact Finding Mission to visit the IOK and convening of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu & Kashmir at the ministerial level.
Secretary General Al-Othaimeen reiterated serious concern over the worsening human rights situation in IOK.
