Protest: Party workers block National Highway
to protest against the transfer of District Police Officer (DPO) Ghotki Pir Mohammad Shah.

Workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto, Sindh National Front, Sindh United Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Shahree Ittehad and residents of Mirpur Mathelo staged a sit-in at the National Highway to protest against the transfer of District Police Officer (DPO) Ghotki Pir Mohammad Shah. The protesters carried placards, shouted slogans in favour of DPO Ghotki, and burnt tyres, blocking the National Highway for more than three hours. They claimed that the law and order situation in the district had improved ever since DPO Shah had been posted there and feared that criminal activities will increase once again after Shah is transferred.
