Sanjrani, Qaiser to visit Afghanistan

Pakistan and Afghanistan are important for each other, says Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser have decided to visit Afghanistan jointly, as a step to boost bilateral ties.

“Peace in the whole South Asian region, including Afghanistan, rests upon peace in Afghanistan,” according to a statement quoting Sanjrani as addressing a six-member Afghan parliamentary delegation on Thursday.

He said a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan was in the interest of the region. He said the visit of the upper house by the Afghan delegation was important.

The Afghan delegation visited senate on the invitation of Pakistan.

The chairman said Pakistan was hopeful of encouraging outcome of the ongoing dialogue for peace in Afghanistan. He said the exchange of visits by the parliamentary delegations will stabilise the existing ties between the two countries.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are important for each other, said Sanjrani.

Afghan Senator Faiz Khan Wakilee said Pakistan’s role for the improvement of the infrastructure in Afghanistan was praise-worthy. “We appreciate Pakistan’s efforts to establish peace in Afghanistan”.

Senate chairman thanked Afghan delegation for their support on Kashmir issue.
