LRH doctors axed for policy violation

There are about 36 different specialised departments in the hospital

PESHAWAR: The administration of Lady Reading Hospital has removed more than ten divisional heads from their posts for failing to conduct mandatory institutional l practice. Hospital sources said that a new policy instituted at the hospital required department heads to carry out their institutional l practice. However, many senior doctors simply did not follow through. Hospital officials said that there are about 36 different specialised departments in the hospital. Among them, the administration has allegedly removed some senior doctors for failing to follow the hospital policy while it has also moved to replace those doctors who are on extended leaves with junior doctors. Sources said that Dr Suleman was appointed as the head of the Allied Medicine Department ahead of Professor Intikhab Alam. Dr.Suleman was later given the post of Medical Director. Later, Assistant Professor Dr Salma Zaib was appointed as head of the department.
