Security put on high alert across Punjab
IGP directs officers to visit field and review security arrangements after a blast at a mosque in Quetta
LAHORE:
Inspector General Police Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has ordered a security high-alert for all sensitive places and worship places across the province after a blast at a mosque in Quetta.
CCPO Lahore, all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs have been directed by the IGP to visit the field and review security arrangements of sensitive and important places. They were also told to conduct search, sweep and combing operations in the vicinity of sensitive and worship places.
Nawaz also directed the officers concerned to increase patrolling hours for the Dolphin Squad and PERU.
He ordered a further increase the security at interprovincial and inter-district check posts.

An Eid Milan party was also held at the Central Police Office. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said the Punjab Police could improve its image in public by improving service delivery so all officers and officials should deal citizen in a congenial way to improve coordination and trust between public and police.
He further said the powers of the police force were the depiction of trust of the nation and should only be used to serve the public with complete honesty. He also stressed the need for improving the performance as per the principles of community policing.
The IGP also directed the officer to speed up the efforts to resolve public issues across the province.
He praised the performance of Punjab Police in providing foolproof security on Eid, Independence Day and Black Day and directed all the officers to ensure security arrangement during Muharram with the same spirit and should start preparing for it.
