Nayyer Ejaz bags international award for 'Baaji'

The film was nominated at the Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival (MISAFF)

Pakistani film industry veteran Nayyer Ejaz has bagged an international award for Best Supporting Actor for Baaji.

The film was nominated at the Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival (MISAFF) which is renowned for showcasing cutting edge cinema from South Asia.

There was a special screening of the film as well starring Meera, Osman Khalid Butt and Amna Ilyas.

Ali Kazmi and director Saqib Malik attended the prestigious festival and shared the news.

"We won the grand jury prize plus best supporting actor. Nayyar Ejaz, the chaandest Kamal (runner up was me, that’s a win in my book being runner up to a legend like Nayyar Ijaz,), he wrote.

"It’s not only a win for us it’s a win for Pakistani cinema on a global scale! Thank you MISAFF for having us be a part of this prestigious festival with films and artists from all over the globe and thank you the most amazing audiences that continue to keep Baaji rocking the cinemas," added Kazmi.

“I am thrilled that Baaji is a part of MISAFF. It is a huge honour that the film will be in competition and up for awards,” the film-maker had said earlier.
