Sanitation workers targeted

According to Police, employees were performing their routine duty when 2 suspects stopped by and started abusing them

RAWALPINDI: The sanitation workers of Turkish waste management company Albayrak were targeted near Ghousia mosque by unidentified motorcyclists on Monday. According to Sadiqabad Police, the employees were performing their routine duty when two suspects on a motorcycle stopped by and started abusing them. The employees retorted, after which it turned into a quarrel; however the suspects fled. A few moments later, the motorcyclists returned armed and started firing at the employees and drove off. The police have begun a search operation to trace out suspects. A similar kind of incident occurred in area of Sadiqabad last year in which two employees lost their lives.
