ABBOTTABAD:
A woman and her infant child were killed when the mud house they were in was buried under a landslide at Loon Pati in Banda Peer Khan on Sunday morning. Torrential rains triggered heavy landsliding.

A house where Waheed Khan’s family lived was buried under the debris. Two occupants of the building, a woman and an infant died.

Rescue 1122 Abbottabad and locals managed to pull the bodies from the debris.

Land sliding also damaged the Banda Peer Khan road at various locations apart from impacting several other houses on the hillside. Fortunately, there were no further causality reports.

After continuous heavy downpour, the mounds and hills of the area are sliding, and residents are frightened as many houses are still within the range of further landsliding amid heavy rains forecasted by the metrology department for next week.
