Bank robbery: Millions stolen from bank

Robbers took fifteen minutes to loot the bank and flee without any interception.

Armed robbers looted more than Rs8 million, in broad daylight from a private bank, on Saturday afternoon. Seven armed robbers forced their way into a branch of United Bank Limited in the main bazaar of Kandiyaro. They overpowered the guards and ordered the bank officials to fill their bags with currency notes. It took the robbers fifteen minutes to loot the bank and flee without any interception. According to unconfirmed reports the robbers stole Rs10 million. The bank manager is not ready to talk to the media. The police are investigating the crime.
