People bring plethora of complaints at khuli kuchery

RPO issues on spot orders for resolution of grievances against police

RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer Ahsan Tufail said on Friday that the provision of justice to people in distress should be the top priority of police officers.

Speaking at khuli katchery or open court he told officers to ensure justice and merit in dealing with cases.

People had come in large numbers with their complaints at the khuli katchery. The top cop of the division issued immediate orders for resolving their problems.

Maria Riaz said that her step-brother had killed their father with the help of Faizan and others. While her brother got life imprisonment, Faizan was acquitted by the court, Maria said. She told the RPO that Faizan was threatening her of dire consequences. RPO Tufail issued directives to SP Potohar to take immediate legal action.

Another complainant, Muhammad Siddique, stated that his uncle has illegally occupied his house. RPO issued orders to DPO Jhelum to investigate the matter.

Shabir Hussain told the RPO that his son was killed but the police did not arrest the accused. RPO Tufail told SP Rawalpindi that he wants the suspects arrested within five days.

Large number of citizens from four districts of the region including Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Rawalpindi came to the open forum with their grievances.

RPO Tufail said khuli kutcheries were being held on the special instructions of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Punjab IGP Arif Nawaz Khan.

The citizens having any complaint particularly against the police can attend the 'khuli kutcheries' and present their applications to the police officers so that appropriate action on their complaint could be taken and they could be provided relief. The RPO said, solid steps were being taken to provide relief to the citizens and their grievances were being addressed.
