Ownership Woes: 18 accused of illegal occupation of factory

Jhang Bazaar police on Thursday registered a case against 18 men, including Anjuman Tajran Sitiana Road president, on charges of trespass and attempt to illegally occupy a factory.


Besides, Anjuman Tajran Sitiana Road president Mian Shahid Gogi, the accused included Jamia Masjid Katchery Bazaar prayer leader, Mufti Muhammad Zia Madni, and his brother, Mufti Hamid Zia Madani.

Police officials said the men had been accused of attempting to grab a factory in Mohallah Saifabad.

They said the investigations were underway however none of the accused had yet been held for questioning.

Complainant Jalal Ahmad said the factory was a property of his father. He said his father had neither leased the unit not sold it to anyone. He said his father was fighting a case against the wife of his former business partner over the ownership of the factory.

He said the men had been sent by the rival group to dispossess them and grab the factory.

The accused, however, claimed that they had rented out the factory. On Thursday, they said, they had gone to the factory for a visit but someone called Rescue 15 helpline and accused them of illegal occupation.
