Works and Services Minister announces PPP's tree plantation drive

KARACHI: Works and Services Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information, Law and Anti-Corruption Murtaza Wahab announced that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has started a tree plantation drive across Pakistan, while talking to the media on the 66th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.

Shah said that a huge amount has been allocated in the provincial budget 2019-20 for the plantation of trees. Referring to the urban forest that the provincial government intends to build in Karachi, he said that it was a brilliant project. He further said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also instructed the Sindh government to plant trees for the betterment of the environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Wahab said that the tree plantation project would start from Lyari and Malir River.

He also resolved to follow in the footsteps of Benazir Bhutto.

The PPP leadership and party's workers aim to follow the vision of Benazir Bhutto and realise her dreams, he said.

Wahab praised Benazir Bhutto for her courage and leadership and said that the courageous women of Pakistan have PPP's full support in their fight against all forms of exploitation, discrimination and violence.

He further said that Benazir Bhutto continues to live in the hearts and minds of the people of Pakistan.
