Seminar stresses promotion of tourism

Speakers at an event held in University of the Punjab address the problems faced by the country’s tourism industry

Speakers at an event held in University of the Punjab (PU) addressed the problems faced by the country’s tourism industry. These experts gathered at a seminar aimed to create awareness about tourism trends and the role of digital media in the promotion of tourism in Pakistan. The seminar titled “Tourism and Role of Digital Media”, organised by the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), PU, was attended by a large number of students including those enrolled in tourism degree programs and officials from various organizations. Focal Person to the Prime Minister on Digital Media Dr Arslan Khalid, Social Media Focal Person to the Punjab Chief Minister Azhar Qazi Mashwani, CEO Discover Pakistan Dr Kaiser Rafique and CEO Road and Story Yasir Rasheed addressed the participants of the seminar and thoroughly briefed them on the problems faced by the country related to tourism development. They also spoke of the government’s role in the promotion of the tourism industry.
