Pakistan, US hold strategic dialogue

A number of follow-up sectoral meetings will be held during June to carry forward the process of comprehensive Pakistan-US engagement.

The meetings started today in Islamabad.

Foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit issued a press release, stating the purpose of the dialogue, that is, to carry forward the process of comprehensive Pakistan-US engagement.

Several issues of mutual interest will be discussed in the meetings, including defence, security and social development, law enforcement and counter terrorism.

The upcoming meetings are meant to broaden and deepen the spirit of partnership between Pakistan and the United States.
