Justin Bieber challenged Tom Cruise to a fight and no one knows why

Of all the people to incite, the singer chose the 'Mission Impossible' star

Of all the people he could have picked to challenge to a fight, Justin Bieber picked Tom Cruise, famous for doing his own death-defying stunts in the Mission: Impossible films.

Would you choose someone who climbed a skyscraper in Dubai and hung off a plane in mid-air to throw your hat into a mixed martial arts ring with? Well, Bieber just did, reported NDTV.

The Sorry singer took on an almost suicidal mission of his own by challenging the film star to a fight. He didn't have any illusions about how this fight was going to turn out, however. Bieber threw out his challenge on Twitter and then posted a film clip of the iconic fight scene from Cruise's 1992 scene Far and Away with a photoshopped version of himself as the actor's opponent.

The scenario became weirder when Bieber also photoshopped celeb onlookers such as Elon Musk, Matt Damon and UFC president Dana White.

A mischievous fan drop-kicked Arnold Schwarzenegger 

The singer captioned his Twitter post, "Damn Tom, this didn't go as planned." A day before, Bieber told Cruise that if he 'didn't take the fight' he was 'scared' and would 'never live it down.'

Nobody knows why 25-year-old Bieber wants to fight 56-year-old Cruise, or anyone really. Cruise, who is the star of several action films as well as sports classic Jerry Maguire, is not on social media and, therefore, has not responded.

Is Bieber's random moment of passion over?  Only Twitter will tell.
