
The Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ahsan Tufail took notice of the incident and ordered the Attock District Police Officer (DPO) to submit a report after probing into the incident.
Officials of the Saddar police station said that around seven vehicles and 20 motorbikes, which had been impounded in different cases, were parked in at the compound. They added that due to the scorching heat, a fire had erupted in the dry bushes of the forest behind the station.
Owing to a slight wind, the fire moved towards the station and soon affected parts of the station.
As news of the fire spread, rescue teams and a fire brigade were called in. They managed to put the fire out after several hours.
Saddar police station SHO Muhammad Farooq confirmed to The Express Tribune confirmed the number of vehicles which were affected.
