Man beats infant son to death in Islamabad

Mother says her husband had brutally beaten up their one-and-a-half years son who succumbed to his injuries

ISLAMABAD: A man beat to death his 18 months old son in the remits of Khanna police station.

The distraught mother told police that her husband was a drug addict and was under the influence when he started beating the child.

Samina Bibi, a resident of Bilal Town said in the FIR that her husband, Naeem Gil Maseeh, slapped their child on the face a number of times. The blows were so hard that the child died.

Subsequently, Khanna police on Friday arrested the father on the allegation of killing his one-and-half-year-old son, registered First Information Report (FIR) and opened an investigation.

The accused has confessed to his crime. DIG Operations Waqaruddin Syed has directed the concerned police officers concerned to investigate the case on merit.

The Police have registered a case under CrPc 302 and started investigations.

Earlier, DIG Operations Waqaruddin Syed had tasked SP Rural to arrest the suspects. A team of homicide comprising Anis Akbar, SHO Thana Khanna Inspector Sattar Shah and others was constituted to arrest the culprit. Waqaruddin Syed has appreciated the performance of police team.

 

 



Three murders

A woman was shot dead by an unidentified man at her friend’s home.

Muhammad Ramzan told Saddar Wah police that her sister was at Chun Nasreen’s home where an unidentified man shot her for unknown reasons.

Ramzan told the police that Malik Habib Akhtar, the victim’s husband, informed him about the incident in the Civil Hospital where her body was brought.

A man was shot dead over a land dispute. Shakeel told Mundra police that his maternal uncle Sidique was at his home when Abdul Jabbar entered their farmland with a tractor, with an intention to forcibly occupy it.

Siddique, Ramzan and his brother Waseem went to stop Abdul Jabbar. However, he was armed and also had some other men with him. They opened fire killing Waseem on the spot, Ramzan said.

Rashid Mahmood filed a complaint with the Naseerabad police station that he and his brother, Arshad Mahmood, were going in their pickup when unidentified assailants riding a motorbike came near and shot Arshad dead.

Islamabad police arrest 15 suspects

Police have arrested 15 suspects from various areas of the city and recovered stolen bikes, drugs liquor and arms from their possession a police spokesman Friday said.

Bani Gala police arrested Haseeb Sultan and recovered Kalashnikov along with ammunition from him. Koral police arrested Kamran Ali and Muhammad Siraj and recovered Kalashnikov, one 32 bore revolver along with ammunition from their possession.

Karachi Company police arrested three accused Muhammad Waleed, Asad Shah and Atif Masih and recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition and 10 litre of homebrewed liquor from their possession. Ramna police arrested accused Fahad Khan and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol from him.

Separately, Industrial Area police arrested accused Waqas Ali and recovered two cans of beer from him. Koral police arrested accused Azhar and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Sihala police arrested accused Faraz and recovered one Kalashnikov from him. Bhara Kahu police arrested accused Liaqat and recovered 230 grammes of hashish from him. Tarnol police arrested accused Abdullah and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Shahzad Town police arrested accused Ahsan Abbasi and recovered one 30 bore pistol while police also arrested accused Abdul Rehman involved in theft case.

Nilor police arrested accused Qamer Hussain and recovered stolen bike from him.

Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigations are under way from them.

DIG Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities.

He said it is the collective responsibility of every person of the society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.
