LAHORE: PML-N lawmakers strongly condemned the death of eight infants at the District Headquarters Hospital in Sahiwal, blaming the incident on doctor’s negligence.

Unaiza Fatima demanded the formation of a judicial commission to probe the unfortunate matter and determine the actual cause of the death toll reaching eight.

Through a resolution, she also demanded that the perpetrators be given remarkable punishment to send a message to others and avoid the repeat of such an incident.

She found it alarming situation that eight children died at the DHQ hospital, but no one took serious action against those responsible. She said the house strongly condemned the incident and was in a state of sorrow because of it.

She said it was the negligence of the doctors which caused the death of innocent infants. The PML-N MPA added the administration of the hospital failed to make alternative arrangements after the air conditioners of a ward turned dysfunctional.
