Mall Road in Murree declared no-car zone

Murree Mall Road has been declared a pedestrian zone for Eid holidays, while commuters have been directed to approach the holiday spot through Islamabad Expressway and Rawalpindi-Murree-Kahuta (RMK) Road and leave through GT Road.

City Traffic Police (CTP) have announced a plan to avoid traffic snarl ups in Murree during Eid holidays.

The practice of one-wheeling and other stunts has been banned in the hill station, said CTP spokesperson Wajid Satti.

During Eid days, he said, a total of 90 Traffic Assistants, 264 Traffic Wardens, 17 Inspectors, five DSPs would control the traffic flow at the hill station and facilitate visitors. He said that as per the traffic plan, heavy traffic will be completely banned from entering Murree from 07am to 1am.

No one would be allowed to park vehicle at GPO Chowk while five roads of the hill station including View Forth, Hall, Bank, Guldana and Imtiaz Shaheed Roads would be used as one-way, he added.
