Man strangles his wife to death

Police say he, with abatement of his mother and sister, allegedly killed his spouse

FAISALABAD: A man strangled his wife to death over a domestic dispute at his house in the jurisdiction of Nishatabad police on Sunday.

According to the police, Amir Masih of Chak 100-JB used to quarrel with his wife named Khalida Bibi over domestic issues. After an altercation, Amir with the abatement of his mother and sister allegedly strangled Khalida. A case has been registered against the accused.

In a separate incident, a woman committed suicide by swallowing poisonous substance at her house on Sunday. Police said on Sunday Maria, 23, a resident of Hameedabad, developed differences with her husband and went to her parents’ house where she took this extreme step. She was taken to a nearby hospital in precarious condition where she breathed her last.

Meanwhile, a teenage boy was found murdered in the precincts of Mansoorabad police on Sunday. Police said that some passersby spotted the body at a deserted place near Steam Power Station and informed the police. The police reached the spot and shifted the corpse to a mortuary of Allied Hospital for postmortem. Efforts are being made to trace out his family and culprits involved in his murder.

15 human smugglers held

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Sunday to have arrested 15 human smugglers, including 6 proclaimed offenders from various parts of the district during last one week. The accused extorted money worth millions of rupees from people under the garb of sending them abroad for employment but later they neither sent them abroad nor returned their money back.
