The company has reportedly been in touch with many record labels in recent weeks in an effort to break a deal. Snapchat could add more musical features like TikTok and Instagram if the deal finalises.

Previously, Snapchat has secured licenses to use individual artists’ music on their platform, but now it is seeking to add wide range to its library by approaching record companies like Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music, Warner Music and Access Industries.
Back in December 2018, Snapchat introduced a new feature called “Lese Challenge”, which lets users share interactive lip-synced videos similar to TickTok. But this feature is not easily accessible as the music features in other apps like Instagram. This could be Snap’s way to address this situation.
