Polio drive to begin in Rawalpindi from June 17

Campaign to cover rural and urban areas of the city as well as Taxila and Gujjar Khan

RAWALPINDI: Preparations for a six-day polio drive in the five tehsils of Rawalpindi have started. The campaign is expected to kick-off after Eidul Fitr from June 17 and continues until June 22.

The campaign will cover rural and urban areas of the city as well as Taxila and Gujjar Khan. There will be a special focus on areas which have been deemed ‘sensitive’.

Rawalpindi District Health Authority (DHA) Chief Executive Dr Rashid Khan said that they were working with all heart and responsibility to eradicate polio from the society.
