
The children of Irshad had a fight with cousins in Chak No 92-RB. After a heated argument, Irshad got infuriated and opened fire at his brothers, killing Akmal and severely injuring Akram and Aslam. The police took the body into custody and started investigation.
In a separate incident, a man was killed in a road accident in limits of Sadar police. According to Rescue 1122, Sadiq, 60, was riding a bicycle when a motorcycle hit him near 9-wala Phattak at Jaranwala Road, killing him on the spot.
Meanwhile, the warehouse of a cotton factory was gutted on Sammundri road due to a short circuit. A Rescue 1122 official said that the fire engulfed the whole surroundings which burnt precious cotton bales stock. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic efforts. No loss of life was reported in the incident.
Moreover, the People's Colony police arrested three dacoits and recovered two pistols from their possession. The team conducted raids and arrested Imran (ringleader) and his two accomplices. The accused were wanted by different police stations for crimes like robbery.
Additionally, the district police arrested 33 proclaimed offenders, four drug peddlers and two gamblers during an ongoing crackdown. The accused peddlers were identified as Sabtain, Abrar Hussain, Munawar Waseem and Shah Zeb.
