Medical services have resumed in govt hospitals

Protesting young doctors in Rawalpindi called off their protest on Monday after headway was made in talks regarding the implementation of the Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) Act with the provincial government, reported.

Medical services were resumed in Poly Clinic Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

Due to the strike in government hospitals, patients were facing many difficulties.

Outpatient departments of nine major government hospitals were not operational for the last nine days due to the strike.

The strike entered into the tenth day on Saturday due to which patients faced many problems at government medical facilities. hospitals.



On the other hand, the Punjab government directed the Additional Secretary Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education, Dr. Nasir Shakir, to formulate a list of all protesting medical and para-medical staff from Medical Superintendents (MSs). The government has indicated that it would sack such doctors.

Only 15pc patients were being examined through an alternate system while the rest returned without getting treatment due to the strike.
