Rakhi Sawant to play a Pakistani in her upcoming film

Actor received serious flak on social media where many called her a traitor and others asked her to move to Pakistan

Bollywood actor Rakhi Sawant recently courted controversy when she was seen posing with a Pakistani flag. The actor received some serious flak on social media, as many of her fellow Indians called her a traitor and some asked the starlet to move across the border.

Rakhi shared the photo of herself with the Pakistan flag on her Instagram. Along with it, she wrote, “I love my India but its my character in the film, Dhara 370.”

But despite her disclaimer, social media trolls were not happy and eventually, forced Rakhi to respond. She thereby shared a video explaining that she is playing a Pakistani girl in Dhara 370 and that the people of Pakistan are also kind-hearted and she respects them.

"Main logon ko yeh batana chahti hoon ki main ek Pakistani larki dikhayi gayi hoon film mein. Pakistan ke logon ke seenay mein bhi dil hota hai. Bohot pyaare hote hain. Main Pakistan ki bohot respect karti hoon, unke logon ki respect karti hoon [I want to tell people that I am playing a Pakistani girl in the film. Pakistanis also have hearts. They are good people and I respect Pakistan and its citizens],” she said.

Dhara 370 also stars Hiten Tejwani and is being shot in various parts of Uttrakhand.
