LAHORE:
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has conducted a survey for rehabilitation and improvement of roads in Allama Iqbal Town and Samanabad.

Following the instructions of LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan, Additional Director General (ADG) Urban Planning Rana Tika Khan visited the area to verify the locations and estimates of the schemes.

The ADG underlined the need for prioritising development schemes in the backdrop of local requirements. “Facilitating the maximum number of people should be the sole consideration for executing development projects in the city, especially in view of the limited resources available for this purpose,” he said.

The LDA planning and development director informed him that widening Joray Pul Chowk, near Umer Block Allama Iqbal Town would be carried out at a cost of Rs46 million. This will improve the flow of traffic at this point, easing gridlocks.

He said the rehabilitation and improvement of main boulevard Samanabad, from Multan road to Naya Mazang roundabout would be executed at a cost of Rs10 million.

He added that LDA has allocated a sum of Rs200 million for the maintenance of internal roads in various housing schemes.
