QUETTA:

Wapda Hydro Union and employees of Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) staged a demonstration outside the Balochistan Assembly on Saturday demanding the early and safe release of Chief Engineer Rauf Baloch who was kidnapped from Quetta two days ago.

The protesting employees chanted full throat slogans against the government and police for their failure to ensure safety and security of citizens. Addressing the protesters, provincial president of the union Haji Ramzan Achakzai said the government had failed in protecting the life and property of people, since abductions and target killings were becoming a norm, in and around Quetta.“If the government does not take serious steps for the safe and immediate release of engineer then we, the labourers, will protest accross Pakistan,”
he added.
