Lehri stresses importance of education for development
Emphasizes educational standards, teachers’ diligence
QUETTA:
Balochistan Education Secretary Muhammad Tayyab Lehri has urged teachers to diligently play their role in the provision of quality education as well as the proper nurturing of students to ensure a bright future for the country and the province.
He said the emphasis must be on producing talented students rather than mere degree holders because a high standard of education is essential to cope with the challenges of the modern era, adding that all of society’s evils could be eliminated through quality education.
He further said an educated Balochistan was the vision of Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan, stressing that all of us must play a positive role to ensure the promotion of education and that backwardness in society as well as criminal activities could only be eradicated by promoting an educational environment in the province.
The secretary was visiting schools in Khuzdar including Government Model High School, Government Higher Secondary school in Kathan, Girls High School in Khairabad and Boys High School in Khand, among others. He also reviewed educational facilities at the institutions during his visit.

Muhammad Tayyab Lehri asserted that measures were being taken to improve teachers’ attendance at institutions across the province with district administrations being directed to monitor the presence of educators on a regular basis in order to enhance the performance of Balochistan’s educational institutions.
He claimed that the chief minister was taking revolutionary measures to promote education in
the province under his vision of an educated Balochistan.
He said the provincial government had allocated substantial financial resources to improve the standard of education across the province and that efforts were also underway at the district level to create an environment that emphasized the importance of knowledge, a move he hoped would help achieve the objectives of the province’s enrolment campaign.
Industrialisation needed to boost economy: Yasinzai
The secretary also instructed teachers to plant environment-friendly flowers and ensure cleanliness at their respective institutions.
He also directed them to encourage participation in sports, public speaking and other extra-
curricular activities in order to enhance the talents and abilities of students.
The teachers also briefed the education secretary on their schools’ performance as well as their requirements.
Education Secretary Muhammad Tayyab Lehri also assured the teachers that he would strive to address their legal issues.
Kalat Division Education Director Muhammad Jan Raza Baloch, Khuzdar District Education Officer Muhammad Zakaria Shahwani, Division Education Deputy Director Munir Ahmed Sasoli, Assistant Director Abdul Haq Sasoli and other education department officials accompanied the Balochistan education secretary during the visit.
