ISLAMABAD:
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has increased LPG prices by Rs1.3 per kg just before Ramazan. According to a notification issued by the authority, the price of domestic cylinder has been hiked by Rs16 to Rs1,580 from Rs1,564 in April 2019. However, the LPG Association announced to keep prices unchanged and demanded withdrawal of the hike. The association has decided against raising prices in the holy month of Ramazan and has also established a complaint cell. LPG Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said the body has decided not to hike prices as a respect for Ramazan. “Therefore, the prices of April 2019 will be followed according to which the price of domestic cylinder will remain unchanged at Rs1,564 per kg and the per-kg price will remain stable at Rs133,” he said. Strict action would be taken against people selling the commodity at higher prices, he said. Similarly, the cost of commercial cylinder has been fixed at Rs6,061.
