Senior auditor submits record in corruption case
Record includes cheques, bills of advertisements issued and other documents
KARACHI:
An accountability court provided copies submitted by Sindh accountant general senior auditor on Saturday to the accused's counsels in the corruption reference of Rs5.76 billion in Sindh information department.
Jail officials presented former minister Sharjeel Memon, Inam Akbar and other accused before the court. Sindh Accountant General Senior Auditor Syed Iqbal Ali presented his record before the court which comprised 14,000 pages and 509 files.
The record included the cheques, bills of advertisements issued and other documents.
13 parliamentarians among 14,154 facing tax audit
The copies of the record were provided to the accused's counsels.
The court adjourned hearing till April 22.
Meanwhile, another accountability court summoned National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) witness on the next hearing of the Rs17b corruption reference against Dr Asim Hussain and others on April 27. Former petroleum minister Dr Asim and other accused appeared before the court. NAB witness Shakeel Ahmed did not appear before the court.
