RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has commenced the process of renewing contract for collecting parking fee on six streets of Saddar Market. The process will be completed in three days.

According to the contract the designated spaces on Bank Road, Haider Road, Kashmir Road, Adamjee Road, Keng Road and Police Station Road have been given on contract as charged-parking places.

However, the traders’ community has expressed serious displeasure over this decision and said that parking lots should not be made on roadsides.

Furthermore, it has been noted that the new plazas in the market have a basement parking. However, people do not bother to park their cars there and instead park it on roadsides, which disrupt the traffic flow.
