The thought of death didn't come to me: Sonali Bendre on cancer
Actor has appeared on the cover of 'Harper's Bazaar' magazine's Spring issue
Bollywood star Sonali Bendre recently returned to India after having spent six months in America getting treated for cancer, reported Hindustan Times. Now, the Kal Ho Naa Ho actor has appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar - totally rocking that pixie cut.
The Hum Saath Saath Hain star donned a powder blue dress with a one-shoulder accent featuring pleated ruffles for the shoot. "I’d rather dress up and show up! That’s how I would describe my shoot for the Harper's Bazaar cover.”
The 44-year-old Sonali went on to share that through this experience, she has learnt never to let it hold back. “We were shattered when my PET [Positron Emission Tomography] scan showed the cancer had spread all over my abdomen, like fairy lights. The doctor in New York had said that there was about 30% chance of it all going away."
However, she and her family never lost hope. “The thought of death didn’t come to me. I thought this was going to be a long struggle but I never thought I’d die.”
Sonali is slowly but surely getting back to her routine life in India after returning in December last year. The actor was seen celebrating Christmas with close friends, Gayatri and Sussanne Khan. She also showed up at the wedding celebrations of Mukesh Ambani’s son, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta last month.
