An official from Tandlianwala City police station said that officials arrested criminals in relation to a murder case number182/19. He added that the culprits were kept in the police station’s lock up pending further investigations.
He mentioned that when Tandlianwala City Police Station SHO Naveed Aslam went on routine patrolling, Mohrar Muhammad Nawaz released the men from the lock up and granted them permission to sleep in his room.
The official pointed out that when the SHO reached the police station after a few hours, he saw the suspects sleeping in his office. At this, Naveed was enraged and scolded Nawaz. He allegedly verbally abused him and exchanged heated words.
He stated that in a bid to take revenge, Nawaz registered a case against the SHO for misbehaving with him.
When contacted, SHO Naveed Aslam told Express News that the allegations against him were baseless as he had not used offensive language. He claimed, “When I inquired from the mohrar regarding the matter, he was enraged and started an argument.”
Meanwhile, the higher police officials took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry. They said action will be taken against the accused cops without discrimination.
