Clean and Green Pakistan week ends

Seminars, awareness walks, and training were organised throughout the week in which thousands of trees were planted

The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) organised an awareness walk in connection with Clean and Green Pakistan from Rescue Command and Control, LOS to Shama Chowk, Ferozepur Road on Saturday.

The walk, led by Provincial Minister for Disaster Management, Mian Khalid flanked by DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer, Assistant Commissioner Lahore besides rescue officer from Headquarters and Academy. A large number of rescuers, rescue scouts and volunteers took part in the event. The core objective of this drive was to make this country ‘pollution free and clean and green, said Rescue 1122 spokesperson.


On the directions of Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer, a week of Clean and Green Pakistan in all 36 districts of Punjab was observed between March 18 and 23, 2019 in collaboration with the District Administration, Social Welfare Department, Civil Society and the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) across Punjab.

Seminars, awareness walks, and training were organised throughout the week in which thousands of trees were planted in districts of the province. Besides, information and awareness material based streamers, banners, and stickers along with a thought-provoking message regarding Clean and Green Pakistan as well as health and safety material were also distributed among the public to sanitize them about their individual and collective role and contribution towards making the country safe, prosperous, clean and green.

Dr Naseer said that all the segments of the society should play their role in making this country clean and green. He said that the community participation in this awareness walk is a symbol of ownership by the community and if joint efforts are not made on a priority basis by the public, media and corporate sector to make this earth ‘pollution free'.
