ATC sentences convict to 14 years

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court sentenced a criminal on Thursday to 14 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of throwing acid on a woman over her refusal to his marriage proposal. The court also ordered the convict, Danish, to pay Rs800,000 as blood money to the victim. The court released three other accused, Malik Qurban, Abdur Raheem and Muhammad Ashraf. According to the police, Danish threw acid on Zainab Iqbal. The petitioner identified the criminal during an identity parade.
