A girl, who suffered a bullet injury after a man opened fire at her over the rejection of a marriage proposal, died at the hospital, Express News reported.

A police official said Mudassir had fallen in love with Iqra, a resident of Chak No 285-EB, and wanted to marry her. He added that the suspect sent a marriage proposal to the girl’s parents, but they refused due to doubts over Mudassir’s character.

He said that after Mudassir’s marriage proposal was rejected, the latter decided to murder the victim.

On the day of the incident, Iqra was busy with household chores when the accused barged into the house. The official mentioned Mudassir opened fire at the girl and she suffered a critical bullet injury. Later, the suspect also shot himself and both were shifted to Nishtar Hospital for treatment.


However, Iqra breathed her last . Police have registered a case and started investigations.

In a similar incident a few days ago, a man shot a married woman dead and injured her husband over a dispute in Dera Ghazi Khan.

The police said that Bilal had fallen in love with Aqeela Bibi and he wanted to marry her.

However, the woman tied the knot with another man named Sharif. The couple started living in a house in Mehboobabad Colony. When Bilal learnt of her marriage, he got enraged and decided to take action. On the day of the incident, Bilal and his friend Abbas barged into Aqeela’s house and opened fire at her. As a result, she suffered a bullet injury and was killed on the spot, while her husband was injured.
