NAB files second reference against Fawad
The second reference detailed that Fawad had accumulated Rs1.09 billion in wealth

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore filed a second corruption reference against the former prime minister’s principal secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad in an assets accumulated beyond known means of income case.
Fawad was arrested by NAB in the Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme Scam on July 5, 2018. However, his arrest for the assets beyond known means of income case was made on August 3, 2018. During investigations on physical remand, NAB found incriminating evidence.
The second reference, filed by NAB against the accused, detailed that Fawad had accumulated Rs1.09 billion in wealth. It also included details of a five-kanal commercial plot worth Rs500 million on Haider Road in Saddar Rawalpindi.
NAB also found evidence of his shares in a 15-storey plaza worth Rs3.85 billion in Rawalpindi. The bureau also found evidence of unnamed assets against him and his family members.
The inquiry against the suspect entered its investigations stage on October 12, 2018. Later, NAB, after finding solid evidence and reaching logical a conclusion, sent the reference for approval to its headquarters.
An executive board, headed by NAB Chairperson Javed Iqbal, formally approved the filing of the reference. On Monday, the reference was filed before the accountability court.
