Dr Jabbar Khattak wins JSMU Senate seat
Students, graduates celebrate convincing electoral victory

The Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) has held elections for its senate seat for Sindh Medical College graduates in which Dr Jabbar Khattak has emerged victorious with an overwhelming majority. Dr Khattak was the nominated candidate of the JSMU’s democratic panel. He is also the current secretary-general of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) as well as the chief editor of the Awami Awaz Media Group. Hundreds of university graduates from various provinces, including Sindh, as well as from foreign countries, had contested the JSMU senate elections. Talking to JSMU doctors and students following the announcement of his electoral victory, Dr Jabbar Khattak pledged to do his very best not only to help turn Sindh Medical University into a quality institution but also to work for the welfare of the students and resolution of their issues. His win resulted in enthusiastic celebrations by jubilant JSMU students and graduates as they distributed sweets to mark the occasion.
