Nine remanded to police in Quetta family deaths case

A district and sessions court handed over nine accused on Tuesday for one-day physical remand. The accused are nominated in the case of deaths of five children and their aunt due to excessive use of insecticide in the room they were staying.
Preedy Police presented the nine accused before the court. The investigation officer requested that the accused be handed over to police for physical remand for further investigation. A questionnaire comprising 20 questions has been prepared for the hotel staff.
The court asked the investigation officer to produce the accused in court today (Wednesday) along with the progress report of the case.
On Monday South Zone investigation police claimed to have arrested six employees of Qasr-e-Naz guest house. A senior police official on the condition of anonymity told The Express Tribune that the six accused included a chief engineer at Qasr-e-Naz. The accused sprayed the room with bed bug insecticide. While the rooms are supposed to be opened 24-36 hours after the medicine is used, this room was not only opened before the fixed time but was also allotted for residential purpose, said the police official.

Faisal Zaman, a resident of Quetta had travelled to Karachi along with his family for his wife’s treatment and had stayed at Qasr-e-Naz guest house.
