Two cardiologists carried out physical examination of Nawaz

The Punjab government on Sunday set up a health unit for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat Jail on the request of his daughter Maryam Nawaz. Three cardiologists will be serving at the unit on a rotation basis.
According to details, the Punjab chief minister’s spokesperson Dr Shahbaz Gill, complying with the prime minister’s orders, held a meeting with Nawaz.
Two cardiologists carried out physical examination of Nawaz. Upon recommendations of the doctors, the provincial government issued directives for provision of an exercise bicycle for the former premier in the jail.

Punjab Institute of Cardiology Chief Executive Prof Nadeem Malik and Prof Saqib Shafi held medical checkup of Nawaz. The doctors after the medical examination have advised a few changes in the prescription of medicines for Nawaz.
The former prime minster would change the medicines after consultation with his personal physician. According to the spokesperson, three cardiologists are performing duties at the health unit set up at the jail. The government was trying to provide all medical facilities required for treatment of Nawaz, he said.
