Tragedy: Girl crushed to death by dumper truck

HARIPUR: A minor girl was crushed to death when a recklessly driven dumper truck ran over her in the jurisdiction of Khanpur police station, here on Sunday. The errant driver however managed to flee from the scene. Eyewitnesses said the minor girl was going to a relative’s house and was crossing the Khanpur Taxila Road near Julian village when a Haripur-bound dumper truck (TKS 860) ran over her, killing the girl on the spot. The deceased was later identified as Eman Zehra. The accused driver escaped arrest. Meanwhile, the girl’s family pardoned the truck driver and did not register a case against him.
