Wildlife conservation termed national responsibility

A large number of students and teachers attend a seminar in Abbottabad

Protection of wildlife is a national responsibility just like taking care of children and families, said speakers at a seminar arranged by the K-P Wildlife Department at Jalal Baba Auditorium on Monday. A large number of students and teachers attended the seminar.

The speakers said that people should be sensitised about the importance of biodiversity and the fact that every living being contributes to the well-being of the environment.

It was the need of the hour to create awareness among the public about the importance of the natural environment which was supporting the existence of different kinds of species, wild herbs, the whole ecosystem and the flora and fauna which make up the forest.


The speakers highlighted that forests were the lungs of the earth providing fresh air to the surroundings.

Those who addressed the seminar included Abbottabad District Nazim Col (retd) Sardar Shabbir, K-P Wildlife Department Chief Conservator Safdar Shah, Gen (retd) Ayaz Saleem Rana, former conservator of forest Malik Mumtaz, Professor Dr M Ashfaq and others.
