GUADALAJARA: England’s Ryan Rhodes was stopped in the 12th round of his WBC light-middleweight title fight against holder Saul Alvarez in Guadalajara. The 34-year-old was the underdog going into the bout and was unable to cope with the unbeaten 20-year-old Mexican. Rhodes was floored in the fourth round of a one-sided contest. Trainer Dave Coldwell threw in the towel just as the referee ended the bout after a combination from Alvarez.
