AJK elections: Protest in Karachi over govt 'involvement'

Demonstrators in Karachi protested against the govt's alleged interfernce in the Azad Jammu and Kahsmir elections.

Demonstrators in Karachi protested on Sunday against the government's alleged interfernce in the Azad Jammu and Kahsmir elections.


Demonstrators gathered in front of the Karachi Press Club, led by Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly member Saleem Butt.


They demanded a halt to the government's meddling in the AJK elections, and said that they they should be held as scheduled on June 26.


Speaking to the media, Saleem Butt accused the government of pressurising two election commission returning officers to resign.
