Expanding their scope of investigation on corruption in development funds, NAB has started the physical survey of the development projects. Sources said that it was expected that NAB's team will examine the files inside the office of the engineering department.

Court irked over absence of NAB prosecutor

According to sources, billions of rupees of funds were given to the KMC for Karachi's development that have allegedly been misused. The funds were transferred to bogus developmental projects as payments and to banned institutions.

Sources further said that the investigation of the large-scale corruption was being conducted on the basis of hundreds of complaints filed by contractors and indications made through the media.
