BBIT to propose legislation to foster investment

To incorporate recommendations of educational industries in government plans

QUETTA: The Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBIT) on Monday decided to submit recommendations regarding mandatory legislations to foster private investment in the province.

Balochistan Chief Minister’s Principle Secretary Noorul Ameen Mengal, the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) vice chancellor, secretary industries, secretary livestock, Planning and Development and fisheries directors general (DGs) and other officials participated in the meeting held at the Chief Minister Secretariat.

The meeting reviewed performance of the BBIT and received thorough briefing on opportunities of private investment in Balochistan.

The meeting agreed upon bringing new amendments in the BBIT in line with vision and guidelines of the Balochistan CM and decided to remove hurdles in private investment plans.

The meeting decided to make sure implementation on agreements under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode directing concerned authorities to submit strategy to address the reservations of private companies willing to invest in provincial sectors.

The BBIT would conduct seminars to clinch the attention of private investors while the recommendations of educational industries would be included in the provincial government’s plans. The meeting also laid stress on establishing of legal framework and board session.
