PAPSCON 2019 concludes successfully

Modern plastic surgery techniques discussed during the conference

KARACHI: The annual conference of Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons (PAPSCON) ended successfully on Sunday. Organised by the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons (PAPS) in association with the Express Media Group, PAPSCON 2019 aimed to raise awareness about plastic surgeries for burns, birth defects, cancer patients, accident victims and aesthetics.

The three-day conference was held at Agha Khan University Hospital (AKUH) and featured local and international plastic surgeons including representatives from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Other participants included trainers, professors and doctors.

Modern surgery techniques were discussed at length during the fifteen sessions held over the course of the conference. IPAS representatives, who were attending the conference for the first time this year, spoke about recent developments in aesthetic surgeries of the face and the body.

They also shared their experiences with face lifts, fillers, botox and other cosmetic surgeries performed with machines. Other sessions explored various topics such as reconstruction surgery, cosmetic, cancer trauma and burn surgeries, among others.



Speakers at the conference included Dr Ziaul Islam, Professor Muazzam Tarar, Professor Hussain Abdul Hassan, Dr Taimur Shoaib, Dr Michelle Plazo, Dr Sameera Ajmal and Dr Mabroor Bhatti, among others.

All three days also saw stalls set up by local and international pharmaceutical companies displaying modern surgical instruments and medicines.
